My Story
A bit about us
A bit about us
If I could steal a moment of your time and allow me to tell you how this business came to be..
It started when my better half, Joshua, got cancer. We had lost our home not long before his diagnosis and were living in an apartment. Four humans, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and not a lot of room. When we lost our home, we didn't sell anything to move into the apartment. We felt better about giving what we had to people in need. God is good all the time, and we wanted to honor him in what we were doing as we ventured upon this new journey.
Cancer brought about its own battles, and sure enough, finances were part of that. As I was struggling to care for my boys and ailing husband, while homeschooling and working part time jobs, I found some lovely beaten up wooden stools ready to go to the trash. I have drawn, painted, and been artistic for as long as I can remember; even taking classes in college.
I had NO idea God was leading me to a whole new job and lifestyle. Those 3 stools led to a few more stools, which led to one or two pieces at a time, finding them here and there, all being done out of the apartment. Room was scarce. But this was a blessing that got us gas that we couldn't afford, and some food in our bellies. Money was tight, but this was more than we could've had otherwise.
Josh got better.. he is cancer free!!! Praise the Lord! We, after several long years, dug ourselves out of cancer debt and were able to buy a home. I made a promise to God then and there, that I would NEVER make a piece, no matter it's worth, so expensive, that people in any economic status couldn't afford at least one nice piece... you know, something you wouldn't be able to get normally, but just knew that the piece spoke to you. Art does that. Wood. Furniture. Color. Texture. All these entice the senses, and that is why I love doing this. Using the senses God gave us and parlaying that into tangible feelings. I try and keep the pieces I choose antiques.
So there is our beginning. And you are helping shape my future as you visit, purchase, and share my heart's passion. Thank you for being a part of my story
